The Monterey Dores waltzed into Saturday's game with three straight wins but they left with four. They strolled past Sacred Heart Prep with points to spare, taking the game 38-24.
Monterey got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Enobong Wirth out in front who rushed for 119 yards and three touchdowns. Wirth has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Preston White was another key contributor, throwing for 328 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.1 yards per attempt.
Monterey's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Sacred Heart Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
Monterey will head out on the road to face off against Soquel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Soquel will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Sacred Heart Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
