Basketball Recap: Logansport Falls Despite Big Games from Khloe Wells and Kellen Cripe

Logansport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 46-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Caston Comets. The Berries were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Comets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2019.

Kellen Cripe and Khloe Wells certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Cripe posted eight points and five steals, while Wells earned six points and five rebounds. Cripe has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Caston found their leader in sophomore Madisyn Douglass, who had 23 points and five steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Douglass has scored at least a third of Caston's points. Another player making a difference was Grace Colvin, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 12 points.

Logansport's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Caston, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season.

Logansport didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 44-29 defeat against Pioneer on the 7th. As for Caston, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 42-23 loss against Lewis Cass on the 7th.
