McBee is 1-9 against the Hornets since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The McBee Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the C.A. Johnson Hornets at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, McBee was able to grind out a solid victory over the Lions, taking the game 64-55.
McBee's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyrek Wright, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Wright hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. Jakari Holloman was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, C.A. Johnson had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Governor's School for Science & Math 73-37 on the road.
McBee now has a winning record of 10-9. As for C.A. Johnson, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-11 record this season.
McBee came up short against the Hornets when the teams last played back in January, falling 52-43. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of C.A. Johnson's Lamont Jackson, who scored 23 points along with four steals. Now that McBee knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time?
