Central State recap September 17, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Central Montcalm, who defeated 343rd ranked Big Rapids, 26-20. Keagan James threw for 84 yards and ran for 134 yards during the win.
The Hornets scaled the state rankings by moving to 384 from 438 this week, the biggest jump in Central State. Central Montcalm was able to make move up by defeating the Cardinals 26-20.
Nate Shurlow and Garrett Cavendish gave Lakeview a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Shurlow threw for 67 yards, while Cavendish ran for 141 yards. John Zuluaga-Torres also contributed to the rushing game with 34 yards on the ground.

James was a passing and rushing force as Marty James' team bested Big Rapids. James' favorite target this week was Jayson Beckley, who caught 3 passes for 43 yards.
Beckley was the best receiver in the league this week as the Hornets bested Mitch Cumings' team.
Thomas Carey made the biggest impact on defense this week as Morley Stanwood lost to Hesperia. He grabbed 2 interceptions.
Shurlow put up the best numbers in passing as Lakeview fell to Newaygo.
Sean Rinehart's team's Shurlow and Shawn Lindsey have formed a dream team this season, leading Central State in both passing and receiving yards. Shurlow has thrown for 485 yards this season, while Lindsey has 10 catches for 284 yards. Chippewa Hills's Hunter Conley leads the league in rushing yards with 369.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Reed City takes on second place Newaygo.
There should be lots of points scored when the Wildcats and the Warriors face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Lakeview comes in having scored 80 this season, while Chippewa Hills has scored 77. The Wildcats scored 20 points last week as they lost to the Lions.
White Cloud lost to Joe Smith's team 35-8 last week, the largest margin of any game.
