John Paul II fell victim to Wilson Hall's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 45-0 loss at the hands of the Barons. While losing is never fun, John Paul II can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 204th, while Wilson Hall is ranked 89th).
Meanwhile, Florence Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against Pee Dee Academy by a score of 32-20.
It was another big night for Juels I huntley, who rushed for 295 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 14.8 yards per carry. I huntley hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for eight straight games.
Florence Christian's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Dakota Lawson and his two sacks.
Wilson Hall's win bumped their season record to 8-2 while John Paul II's loss dropped theirs to 2-9.
John Paul II was dealt a bruising 42-7 loss at the hands of Florence Christian when the teams last played back in September. Can John Paul II avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
