Memorial is 0-3 against Emerson since October of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Warriors will look to defend their home field against the Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Memorial barely beat Independence the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors blew past the Knights 35-6 last Thursday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Emerson, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They walked away with a 31-21 victory over Denison on Friday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Mavericks' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.
The critical scores for Emerson came from Tj Smith, Brady Mensik, Presha Allen, and Roman Edwards.
Emerson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Smith, Kaden Reyes, and Edwards picked up one apiece. Smith has been hot recently, having also posted eight or more total tackles the last three times he's played. Emerson received some extra help from Mensik, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
