Denver East's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was LINCOLN LEMIEUX, who posted 17 points and five boards. The dominant performance also gave LEMIEUX a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was JEREMIAH IMAN JR, who put up nine points and eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Valor Christian took their matchup on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 68-35 victory over Bear Creek. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 22 points or more this season.
Denver East better keep an eye on Cole Scherer. He was instrumental in Valor Christian's win, almost dropping a double-double with 19 points and nine steals. The contest was Scherer's seventh in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Wynja, who on his way to 21 points.
Valor Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. They are 7-1 when they hit their own glass that hard.
Valor Christian's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.7 points over those games. As for Denver East, their record now sits at 10-14.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Denver East has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27 boards per game. However, it's not like Valor Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.4 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
