The Eastland Mavericks scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 77-56 margin over Breckenridge. Eastland has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 20 points or more this season.
Despite the loss, Breckenridge saw an underclassman step up: Kaysi Wilcox scored 22 points along with five assists and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Jamison, who scored ten points.
The win was the sixth in a row for Eastland, bringing their record for this year to 23-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.2 points per game. As for Breckenridge, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-23.
Eastland will head out on the road to take on Comanche at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Breckenridge, they will be playing at home against Dublin at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Dublin is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
