You might not recognize the power rankings this week after a busy last week rearranged the teams a whole lot. A special shoutout goes to Lincoln Christian's junior Chase Ricke, who scored five total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
Can't Touch This
Heritage Hall's 35 - 27 win over Kingfisher last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Conner Carey. Carey ran for 292 yards and also punched in three touchdowns. That performance landed Carey among the top power-ranked players for the week.
A
The battle between Midwest City (ranked 10th in the power rankings) and Del City (ranked 17th) turned out to be a somewhat underwhelming competition. The final score between Midwest City and Del City was a 42 - 6 blowout in Midwest City's favor. The win boosted Midwest City a satisfying six spots in the power rankings.
Movin on Up
Sperry has been an offensive powerhouse for five straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. It took its game against Victory Christian by a confident 51 - 27 score. Sperry did have the odds in its favor, but the team did even better than the MaxPreps state rankings indicated. The team's efforts were enough to boost its power ranking by 15, which was the most sizeable gain made by any team in the rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Edmond Santa Fe (8th in the power rankings) and Jenks (2nd). Both teams are rolling into the game after last-week wins. Of course, Jenks and Edmond Santa Fe can't both win again this week, so we'll learn on Friday which team falters and which extends its success.
