Lincoln West is 0-5 against East Tech since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Lincoln West Wolverines will head out on the road to face off against the East Tech Scarabs at 7:00 p.m. Lincoln West is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Lincoln West was beaten by Normandy 63-22. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lincoln West has scored all season.
Meanwhile, East Tech put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Horizon Science Academy 91-37 on the road. With East Tech ahead 48-25 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
East Tech's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but George Thomas led the charge by dropping a triple-double on 23 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thomas has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Keshawn Ellington, who scored 23 points along with seven assists and three steals.
Lincoln West bumped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for East Tech, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
Lincoln West took a serious blow against East Tech when the teams last played back in January of 2019, falling 117-42. Thankfully for Lincoln West, Phillip Byrd (who scored 24 points along with nine steals and seven rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
