Football Recap: Liberty Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Southeast Career Tech came into Monday's matchup looking for another win against Liberty, but Jianna Reyes wouldn't allow it. The Liberty Patriots put the hurt on the Southeast Career Tech Roadrunners with a sharp 30-6 win on Monday thanks in part to Reyes, who threw for 230 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 35 yards. Those 35 rushing yards gave her a new career-high.

One reason for the win was Liberty's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Leading the way was Trishelle Tucay with five.

When it comes to explaining why Southeast Career Tech lost, don't look at Leyla Randolph. Despite the final result, she rushed for 89 yards on only 12 carries, and also threw for 98 yards and one touchdown. Randolph didn't just play on offense: she also made three total tackles and defended one pass.

Liberty's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.0 points per game. As for Southeast Career Tech, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-5.

Liberty has already played their next contest, a 51-0 win against Foothill on the 14th. As for Southeast Career Tech, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 39-6 loss against Bishop Gorman on the 16th.
