Jacobs has enjoyed a six-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Crystal Lake South Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jacobs will be strutting in after a victory while Crystal Lake South will be coming in after a defeat.
Jacobs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 73-51 margin over Alcott. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Jacobs had established a 20 point advantage.
Jacobs can attribute much of their success to Nolan Roper, who scored 14 points along with five assists and three steals, and Treval Howard, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Ben Jurzak, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, after a string of 12 wins, Crystal Lake South's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 62-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Geneva. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Jacobs' victory bumped their record up to 13-16. As for Crystal Lake South, their loss ended a 12-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 25-3.
Jacobs suffered a grim 64-38 defeat to Crystal Lake South in their previous meeting back in January. Can Jacobs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
