Volleyball Recap: Hough Starts Season with Win Against South Mecklenburg

Hough gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. Everything went their way against the South Mecklenburg Sabres as the Hough Huskies made off with a 3-0 victory. The Huskies not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 17, 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-9, 25-14.

Despite the loss, South Mecklenburg still got an impressive performance from Phoenix Modie, who had seven kills, five blocks, and four aces. Those five blocks gave Modie a new career-high.

Having lost for the first time this season, South Mecklenburg fell to 2-1.

Looking ahead, Hough will welcome Christ the King at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Mecklenburg, they will venture away from home to square off against Olympic at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The match will give Olympic their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
