Claire Tsai and Emma Gray were among the main playmakers for Legacy as the former had 15 digs and the latter had ten digs and four aces. Gray has been hot for a while, having also posted 12 or more assists the last 30 times she's played.
They weren't the only good servers: Legacy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in 19 consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Highlands Ranch came up short against Legend on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Falcons have struggled against the Titans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
While Highlands Ranch was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-22, 25-14.
Legacy will have to keep a close watch on Ava Buckley and Ezra McGinnis, a pair of players who had a big impact on Highlands Ranch's prior game. Buckley had ten digs and one assist, while McGinnis had nine assists and four digs.
Highlands Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Legacy, their victory bumped their record up to 18-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Legacy has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 10.8 aces per game. However, it's not like Highlands Ranch struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything went Legacy's way against Highlands Ranch in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Legacy made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lightning since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
