Greenville is 0-10 against Sidney since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Greenville Green Wave will head out on the road to square off against the Sidney Yellowjackets at 7:15 p.m. Greenville is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
Greenville fought the good fight in their overtime game against Piqua on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 47-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Drew Hamilton, who scored 13 points along with two steals. Chace Drew was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with ten rebounds.
Sidney has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 57-46 to Tippecanoe on Friday. While losing is never fun, Sidney can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 297th, while Tippecanoe is ranked 121st).
Greenville has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-18 record this season. As for Sidney, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-7.
Greenville lost to Sidney on the road by a decisive 56-41 margin in their previous meeting back in January. Can Greenville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
