The Rickover Naval Seadragons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 35-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chicago Mathematics & Science. Rickover Naval was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Chicago Mathematics & Science apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2020.
It was another big night for Ayomide Salami, who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and four blocks for Chicago Mathematics & Science. The match was Salami's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Abisola-Gold Popoola, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Rickover Naval now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Chicago Mathematics & Science, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rickover Naval will square off against Marine Leadership Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Marine Leadership Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 15 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Chicago Mathematics & Science, they will head out on the road to face off against Chicago Sullivan at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
