After flying high against Palisades last Tuesday, Legion Collegiate Academy came back down to earth. The Legion Collegiate Academy Lancers fell 6-3 to the St. James Sharks on Friday. The Lancers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Sharks from their previous meeting back in April of 2021.
Legion Collegiate Academy got a good showing from Ryan Brakstad, who tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, Collin Tuttle was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. Another player making a difference was Griffin McKain, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.
Even though they lost, Legion Collegiate Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. James only managed five hits.

Coming up, Legion Collegiate Academy will be taking part in a tournament against Ashley Ridge at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for St. James, they will square off against Northwestern at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Northwestern's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so St. James' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
