Basketball Recap: Colin Kieninger and Kellen Crim Secure Win for Morristown

Morristown waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Western Boone Stars by a score of 57-48. With that victory, the Yellow Jackets brought their scoring average up to 50.6 points per game.

Morristown was led to victory by Kellen Crim and Colin Kieninger. Crim posted 20 points, while Kieninger almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Keithley, who earned seven points and seven rebounds.

Several Stars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gavin Hawkins, who had 13 points. Another player making a difference was Burke Cavins, who put up nine points.

Morristown's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for Western Boone, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Morristown will head out on the road to challenge Tri at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tri is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.7 points per game this season. As for Western Boone, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on North Montgomery at 6:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
