The Georgia Military College Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 56-31 walloping at the hands of Lake Oconee Academy. Georgia Military College was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-12.
Georgia Military College lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Hannah Garner, who scored seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Harmoni Watkins, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Georgia Military College dropped their record down to 1-18 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.5 points per game. As for Lake Oconee Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Georgia Military College and Johnson County will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
