The Ashland-Greenwood Bluejays put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to Milford for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-30 win at home. Fans of Ashland-Greenwood have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Ashland-Greenwood got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dawson Thies out in front who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thies has scored all season. Derek Tonjes was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Ashland-Greenwood pushed their record up to 5-0 with that win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.67 points. As for Milford, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ashland-Greenwood will be home for the holidays to greet Wahoo on Tuesday. Wahoo knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Ashland-Greenwood likes a good challenge. Milford will be home for the holidays to greet North Bend Central on Tuesday. North Bend Central and Milford are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
