Clearfield has gone 7-2 against Bald Eagle Area recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bison will face off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Clearfield not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since October 4, 2024 (when they won 41-7). They really took it to Penns Valley Area for the full four quarters, racking up a 46-14 win. Given the Bison's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 184th, while the Rams are ranked 412th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Clearfield's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colton Ryan, who rushed for 138 yards and three scores. Xavier Curry was another key passer, throwing for 214 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 passes.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Bald Eagle Area and Bellefonte meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Eagles secured a 19-14 W over the Raiders.
Clearfield better keep an eye on Luke Hosband. He was instrumental in Bald Eagle Area's win, picking up 103 receiving yards and two TDs. Those 103 receiving yards gave Hosband a new career-high.
Bald Eagle Area has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.3 points on average over those games. As for Clearfield, their record now sits at 4-2.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Clearfield has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 204 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Bald Eagle Area struggles in that department as they've been averaging 167.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Clearfield against Bald Eagle Area when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 41-7 victory. In that matchup, the Bison amassed a halftime lead of 28-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
