The Winter Haven Blue Devils will challenge the Lakeland Christian Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
On Friday, Winter Haven came up short against George Jenkins and fell 6-2. The Blue Devils have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Vincent Miller was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off three hits. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.
At the plate, Winter Haven saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jhalen Wilson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. That RBI was Wilson's first of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lakeland Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They skirted past Plant City 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Vikings have posted since May 11, 2024.
Fin Donay tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Mookie Rodriguez was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Byrd, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Lakeland Christian pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Winter Haven, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
