The College Park Cavaliers's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They came out on top against New Caney by a score of 34-27. This was payback for College Park, who suffered a 27-17 loss the last time these two teams met.
College Park's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rodrigo Bravo jr, who threw for 355 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.1 yards per attempt. Conner Dunphy was in the mix as well, providing College Park with two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, New Caney still got an impressive performance from Hunter Taylor, who rushed for 98 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Taylor was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. David Stewart was another key contributor, rushing for 118 yards.
College Park's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for New Caney, they bumped their record down to 5-5 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
College Park will take on Conroe at TBD on Friday. As for New Caney, they will head out on the road to face off against Caney Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Caney Creek will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 638th, while New Caney is ranked 310th).
