Even though the Village Vikings scored an imposing 64 points on Tuesday, the St. Thomas Catholic Eagles still came out on top. St. Thomas Catholic sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 66-64 victory over the Vikings. The win made it back-to-back wins for St. Thomas Catholic.
St. Thomas Catholic was led to victory by Evan Levy and Aron Valentine. Levy almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds, while Valentine scored 24 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Kimble, who scored 11 points.
St. Thomas Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 13-15. As for Village, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-15 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Thomas Catholic will face off against the Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Concordia Lutheran is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak. As for Village, they will head out on the road to square off against the Apaches on Friday. One thing working in Antonian Prep's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 15 matchups.
