The Plant Panthers won the last time they faced the Steinbrenner Warriors, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Plant snuck past Steinbrenner with a 53-48 win.
Plant got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Azzariah Styles out in front who scored 21 points. Madelyn Galuski was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Steinbrenner still got an impressive performance from Danae Blacketer, who scored 19 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Blacketer has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Lindsay Phillips, who scored nine points.
Plant's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Steinbrenner, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4.
Plant will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Bloomingdale at 6:30 p.m. on January 10th. Bloomingdale is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Steinbrenner, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Alonso at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Alonso will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 518th, while Steinbrenner is ranked 167th).
