Meanwhile, Second Baptist was able to grind out a solid victory over Lutheran South Academy on Friday, taking the game 68-56. Given Second Baptist's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while Lutheran South Academy is ranked 716th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dyllan Thompson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with 9 rebounds and 7 assists. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Alston, who scored 10 points along with 3 steals.
Episcopal has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season. As for Second Baptist, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.
