The Sequoia Charter Stallions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 46-38 to Canyon State Academy. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Sequoia Charter of the 55-52 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture on January 11th.
Despite the defeat, Sequoia Charter saw an underclassman step up: Asher Roehl dropped a double-double on 26 points and 13 rebounds.
Sequoia Charter has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Canyon State Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sequoia Charter will square off against Phoenix College Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Canyon State Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Pan-American at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
