The South Gwinnett Comets lost against the Brookwood Broncos back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. South Gwinnett was just a hair shy of victory and fell 22-21 to Brookwood. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for South Gwinnett in their matchups with Brookwood: they've now lost four in a row.
Although South Gwinnett took the loss, they still got scores from Jaylin Lackey, Xavier Butler, and Jayshawn Appling.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brookwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brayden Tyson, who rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Lee Niles, who picked up 119 receiving yards and a touchdown.
South Gwinnett has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Brookwood, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
South Gwinnett does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Brookwood also has no future games currently scheduled.
