The Mount View Golden Knights will challenge the Greater Beckley Christian Crusaders at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Mount View comes in on four and Greater Beckley Christian on three.
While Mount View's win against Montcalm wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Golden Knights had just enough and edged out the Generals 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Golden Knights have posted since March 27th.

Shiann Carter was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Shianne Belcher, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Mount View always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Greater Beckley Christian sidestepped Pocahontas County for a 6-5 win.
Leah Adkins was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Adkins was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Allison Moten, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Peyton Heffernan was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Mount View's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.8 runs over those games. As for Greater Beckley Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
Greater Beckley Christian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mount View hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .355. It's a different story for Greater Beckley Christian, though, as they've only averaged .237. Will they be able to contain Mount View's hitters?
Mount View couldn't quite get it done against Greater Beckley Christian when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 4-0. Can the Golden Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
