Brilliant took a serious blow against Marion County on Monday, falling 73-40. Brilliant was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-22.
Marion County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tye Madison led the charge by scoring 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Madison hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Joe Aldridge, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten assists.
Brilliant's defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Marion County, their win bumped their record up to 22-8.
Brilliant does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marion County, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lynn at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Marion County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Monday.
