Pleasant and River Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Pleasant Spartans will head out on the road to square off against the River Valley Vikings at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Pleasant is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.
Pleasant put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They blew past Highland 39-16. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Pleasant has posted since November 28, 2023.
Meanwhile, River Valley entered their tilt with Ontario with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. River Valley took down Ontario 48-29 on Thursday.
River Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Megan Clausing out in front who scored 14 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Myla Kenney, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Pleasant pushed their record up to 13-1 with that win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. As for River Valley, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Pleasant barely slipped by River Valley when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 44-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pleasant since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
