It was a good run, but The Southeast Alamance Stallions unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a serious blow against Cummings, falling 47-14.
Despite the defeat, Southeast Alamance saw an underclassman step up: Daniel Bunker rushed for 134 yards.
Jonathan Paylor got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 295 yards while picking up 17.4 yards per carry, and also picked up 91 receiving yards. Paylor was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 68 yards. Devin Witherspoon was another key contributor, throwing for 120 yards and a touchdown.
Southeast Alamance's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Cummings, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-2.
Southeast Alamance will challenge Martin County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Martin County is ranked 293rd, while Southeast Alamance is ranked 303rd). As for Cummings, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Heide Trask at 7:00 p.m. Heide Trask is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
