Basketball Recap: Norfolk Christian Piles Up the Points Against Cape Henry Collegiate

Norfolk Christian waltzed into their contest on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Cape Henry Collegiate Dolphins 95-13. The Ambassadors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 41 points or more this season.

Norfolk Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tamia Dyson led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. That's the most points Dyson has posted since back in December of 2024. Keira Kilkenny was another key player, going 7 of 13 to rack up 15 points in addition to eight boards and six steals.

Norfolk Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Norfolk Christian pushed their record up to 17-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 84.7 points over those games. As for Cape Henry Collegiate, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.

Norfolk Christian and Cape Henry Collegiate should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. Norfolk Christian will square off against Hampton Roads Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 32 places (4 vs. 36). Norfolk Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.3 points per game this season. Similarly, Cape Henry Collegiate (ranked 180th) will meet Peninsula Catholic (ranked 363rd) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
