Even though the South Barber Chieftains have not done well against the Caldwell Bluejays recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. South Barber was the clear victor by a 60-34 margin over Caldwell. This was payback for South Barber, who suffered a 42-34 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Despite the loss, Caldwell still got an impressive performance from Jackson Risley, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds.
South Barber's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Caldwell, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Barber will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on South Haven on December 12th. As for Caldwell, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
