2A Conference 35 recap November 5, 2013
Clarke County extended the longest winning streak in 2A Conference 35 this week by beating Mason, 35-2. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Eagles.
The Mustangs fell to Clarke County 35-2 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Madison County's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. James Graves threw for 339 and 3 touchdowns and Ashton Weakley had 138 yards receiving. On the ground Demaun Minor chipped in 51 yards. Joe Gentry helped Madison County's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 85 yards.
He went 26-39 with 3 interceptions.
Graves put up the best numbers in passing as the Mountaineers fell to Central. Graves' favorite target this week was Weakley, who caught 7 passes for 138 yards.
Madison County's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Mountaineers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Graves has thrown for 1,734 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Weakley has 66 catches for 1,209 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Page County takes on Jackson. At the moment, the Panthers are in sixth, while the Generals are in seventh.
