Berlin Brothersvalley put the finishing touches on their 14th blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 82-32 victory over Williamsburg at home. Given Berlin Brothersvalley's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while Williamsburg is ranked 403rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Berlin Brothersvalley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Pace Prosser led the charge by almost dropping a triple-double on 12 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists. Prosser has been hot recently, having posted nine or more assists the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of McKelvey Foor, who scored 16 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Mountain Ridge didn't have too much trouble with Clear Spring at home on Friday as they won 69-52.
Mountain Ridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Will Patterson, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds. Ian Duncan was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Berlin Brothersvalley's win was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.6 points per game. As for Mountain Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.
Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's matchup: Berlin Brothersvalley have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having averaged 10.8 threes per game. It's a different story for Mountain Ridge, though, as they've been averaging only 3.3 threes per game. Given Berlin Brothersvalley's sizable advantage in that area, Mountain Ridge will need to find a way to close that gap.
