The Bertrand Vikings had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a serious blow against Alma, falling 44-17. Bertrand has not had much luck with Alma recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Bertrand used a three-pronged attack on offense:
Shelby Schoene ,
Addison Andersen, and
Brooklyn Evans posted four points each. Schoene held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Alma to victory, but perhaps none more so than Addison Siebels, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Tierston Moore, who scored 6 points along with 10 rebounds.
Bertrand's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Alma, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bertrand will challenge Loomis on December 9th. As for Alma, they will head out on the road to face off against Kenesaw at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Kenesaw focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Thursday.
