After flying high against the Royal Live Oaks Academy Royal Knights last Tuesday, the Bridges Prep Buccaneers came back down to earth. Bridges Prep was dealt a 82-26 defeat at the hands of Allendale-Fairfax on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bridges Prep in their matchups with Allendale-Fairfax: they've now lost six in a row.
Bridges Prep lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Makayla Lapp, who scored eight points.
Bridges Prep's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.0 points per game. As for Allendale-Fairfax, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bridges Prep will take on Whale Branch at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Whale Branch is ranked 244th, while Bridges Prep is ranked 237th). As for Allendale-Fairfax, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Royal Live Oaks Academy at 6:30 p.m.
