LaVergne is 0-5 against Eagleville since March of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The LaVergne Wolverines will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagleville Eagles at 6:00 p.m. LaVergne has given up an average of 8.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
LaVergne is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 14-11 victory over Hillsboro on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolverines.

Dominic Townsend was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave him a new career-low in earned runs. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five runs, three doubles, and two RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Caleb Lund was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Jay Jerome also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
LaVergne always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Eagleville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against Summertown by a score of 6-2 on Monday.
Like LaVergne, Eagleville also got a great game from a two-way player: Brody Gleason. He pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Gleason was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Karsyn Knowles, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.
Eagleville's win was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.6 runs. As for LaVergne, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
LaVergne suffered a grim 15-2 defeat to Eagleville in their previous matchup back in February. Will LaVergne have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
