Two dominant players in Travis Triplett and Jose Deleon are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Carrollwood Day Patriots's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Spoto Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on January 20th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Carrollwood Day lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Thursday was a bit more commanding. They had to suffer through a rough 79-46 loss at the hands of Braden River. While losing is never fun, Carrollwood Day can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 398th, while Braden River is ranked 143rd).
Spoto suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They were beaten by Durant 72-42. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Spoto in their matchups with Durant: they've now lost four in a row.
Carrollwood Day's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 8-11. As for Spoto, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
Carrollwood Day beat Spoto 71-59 in their previous meeting back in January of 2022. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Spoto's Ben Walker, who scored 27 points. Now that he won't be playing on Saturday, will it be that much easier for Carrollwood Day to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
