They enjoyed a cozy 79-60 win over Winslow. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Mikey Schinstock was his usual excellent self, going 9 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 39 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Anderson Hatch, who scored 15 points.
When it comes to explaining why Winslow lost, one person who can't be blamed is Isaac David. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. David has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last eight times he's played. Lythel Baker was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with four steals.
Payson now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Winslow, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-11.
Payson will head out on the road to challenge Show Low at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Payson has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 232 points over their last three matchups. As for Winslow, they will be playing at home against Camp Verde at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Camp Verde has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
