Even though the West Brunswick Trojans have not done well against the Ashley Screaming Eagle recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. West Brunswick sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 47-44 victory over Ashley. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory West Brunswick has posted yet this season.
West Brunswick's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jahyra Mastry led the charge by scoring 14 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja'kya Johnson, who scored 11 points.
Several Screaming Eagle players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was MacKenzie Morton, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Reagan Norris, who scored 11 points.
