Tri-West Hendricks has gone 9-1 against Southmont recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Bruins will square off against the Mounties at 5:30 p.m. Southmont took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Tri-West Hendricks, who comes in off a win.
Tri-West Hendricks gave up the first runs last Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against West Vigo by a score of 9-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bruins.
Luke Haboush tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jackson Sorgi, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5. Cole Keller was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Tri-West Hendricks kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Southmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Seeger, falling 9-3.
Southmont also got a good showing from Gunnar Shirk, who struck out ten batters over four innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits.
On the hitting side, Colton Cory and Dean McGaughey did some serious damage despite the final result: Cory went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while McGaughey scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. McGaughey is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Cooper Scott also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Tri-West Hendricks now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Southmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Everything went Tri-West Hendricks' way against Southmont when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Tri-West Hendricks made off with a 16-0 victory. Will the Bruins repeat their success, or do the Mounties have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
