The Hereford Whitefaces's found some homefield redemption this week after a tough overtime loss to the Randall Raiders on Friday. Hereford sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 45-42 victory over Dumas. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Hereford's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brylyn Lopez, who rushed for 200 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.7 yards per carry, and also picked up 70 receiving yards. Lopez was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 68 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalub Ramirez, who threw for 343 yards and five touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.
Hereford's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Dumas, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hereford will take on Springtown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Dumas, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Decatur at 7:00 p.m. Decatur is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
