The Holcomb Longhorns's game on Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They walked away with a 58-46 victory over Clay Center. That's another feather in the cap for Holcomb, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Holcomb to victory were Halle Jones and Jera Kruleski. Jones scored 15 points, while Kruleski scored 19 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylee Wickwar, who scored eight points.
Holcomb has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Clay Center, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-4-1.
Holcomb and Colby will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Colby is ranked 52nd, while Holcomb is ranked 37th). As for Clay Center, they will head out on the road to face off against Abilene on Tuesday. Abilene is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
