Byron Berkheimer was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.
Meanwhile, Yuma got the win against Sedgwick County on Saturday by a conclusive 9-1. Considering the Indians have won six games by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Reyli Trejo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 18 Ks.
On the hitting side, Lennox Huwa was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Thomson, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Highland's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Yuma, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Highland has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .436. However, it's not like Yuma struggles in that department as they've averaged .434. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Highland came out on top in a nail-biter against Yuma in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, sneaking past 7-5. Will the Huskies repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
