Sabino is a perfect 10-0 against Pusch Ridge Christian Academy since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Sabercats will host the Lions at 4:00 p.m. Sabino is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
Sabino had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Thatcher on Thursday. The Sabercats never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. The Sabercats haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Avery Nielson and Anouk Alzaga made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Nielson struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Alzaga didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. At bat, Nielson got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI, while Alzaga went 2-for-4 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Bobbi Valles was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Aguirre, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Sabino always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Pusch Ridge Christian Academy fell victim to Empire and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 14-0 to the Ravens. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Lions' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Hettich, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy dropped their record down to 9-9 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Sabino, their win bumped their record up to 13-11.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Sabino has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Pusch Ridge Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Sabino's way against Pusch Ridge Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Sabino made off with a 19-2 victory. Will the Sabercats repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
