Catholic came tearing into Tuesday's contest with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Woodlawn-B.R. Panthers get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-3 last Saturday.

Tanner Forbes looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.

At the plate, Andrew Clapinski was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Cooper Babin also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in nine consecutive matchups.

Catholic's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 27-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Woodlawn-B.R., they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 14 of their last 15 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-22 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Catholic is set to face off against their familiar foe Zachary at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bears 2.2, the Broncos 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Woodlawn-B.R. will take on rival Liberty Magnet at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
