Moody is 8-2 against St. Clair County since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Moody Blue Devils will be playing at home against the St. Clair County Fighting Saints at 4:30 p.m. Moody is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
Moody is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alabama's top teams: Chelsea, who was ranked 18th at the time (Moody was ranked 13th). Moody took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chelsea on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Blue Devils have lost by exactly four runs.
Kendall Trimm and Kennedy Hockman stepped up to the plate in a big way. Trimm went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI, while Hockman went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Hockman a new career-high. Taylor Rogers was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but St. Clair County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Lincoln 10-9. The Fighting Saints haven't had any issues with the Golden Bears recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Demeria Dean was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Aniyah Dean, who scored a run while going 3-for-5.

St. Clair County pushed their record up to 10-6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Moody, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-5.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Moody hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .364. However, it's not like St. Clair County struggles in that department as they've averaged .355. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Moody's way against St. Clair County when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Moody made off with an 11-1 win. Will Moody repeat their success, or does St. Clair County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
