Softball Recap: Mady Schwalm Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Weatherly

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tamaqua, Tri-Valley was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Weatherly a 15-0 shutout. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by ten runs or more this season.

Mady Schwalm was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Alina Leonard, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Tri-Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .593. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Tri-Valley's victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Weatherly, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tri-Valley will host Marian Catholic at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Weatherly, they will welcome MMI Preparatory School at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
